I%26#039;m thinking about getting a credit card from one of the larger credit card company such as Citibank, Capitol One, Chase.
Is there any good ones that don%26#039;t require excellent credit? I%26#039;ve had some lates in the past but have recently consolidated and paid off most of my debt. I guess some companies are more picky than others.
Which credit cards are easier to get with average credit?
Citi%26#039;s approval rates are horrible! And I%26#039;ve heard bad things about Capital One. Chase seems to have the loosest approval guidelines. If your credit is average (not BAD!), you should give Chase a try first:

Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!

Anyone of the companies above should give you credit. These companies make money from people who don%26#039;t pay on time because of the interest rates and all the fees they charge. Don%26#039;t think because you don%26#039;t have perfect credit you won%26#039;t get the card, because you absolutely will. You may not get a great rate at first or a huge credit limit but they will give you something. Good Luck!

There are guidelines to be followed. Most credit card companies work within similar guidelines. Try applying several and see what happens. You don%26#039;t try you%26#039;ll never know.

First let%26#039;s look at the secured credit card for bad credit. A secured credit card requires that you deposit money with the issuing bank, and the bank will issue a credit card in the same amount for your use. Secured cards are guaranteed to be approved, because the bank has your deposit money in case you do not pay your balance. A secured credit card for bad credit operates much like a regular credit card. You receive a monthly statement, and you pay your minimum monthly payment or the balance in full each month. You are charged an interest rate, annual fee and possibly other fees for a secured credit card account.
Be aware that with a secured credit card for bad credit, your charges are not deducted from the deposit you have with the issuing bank. The bank is simply holding your deposit in the case that you default on your credit card balance. You must pay your monthly payments, and owe the bank the balance that you have charged on the credit card. You cannot refuse to pay simply because the bank is holding a deposit without further damaging your credit.
A second option for getting a credit card for bad credit is to get an unsecured credit card. Unsecured credit cards are available for bad credit clients, however, the issuing banks charge high fees to cover the risk of extending credit to a bad credit client. You can expect to pay anywhere from $200-$350 or more in fees which the bank will keep, you do not get that money back. Those fees are upfront costs for obtaining a unsecured credit card for bad credit. In some cases, the bank will allow you to pay the fees over two or more months. read more about it at: http://www.credit-card-gallery.com/artic...

Store cards are similar to credit cards, as you are offered a credit limit to let you spend on the card. But unlike credit cards, store cards are valid only in the specific store or group of stores that have offered you the card. Basically, you are given credit to buy at a specific store or various related stores by using their special credit card.
What are the advantages?
To attract people to get a card restricted to a single store, the retailer offers lot of discounts or special offers. These can consist of a free gift, or discounts on purchase prices when you use the card. If you buy from the shop frequently, this card can lead to big savings on your necessary goods when you use these cards. Another advantage of store cards is that getting it is quite easy even though your credit history is bad. This allows you to restore your credit history.
