Best Credit Cards?

I have a credit score of 734, Im only 21 so my accounts haven%26#039;t been open that long. Capital One gave me a fairly large credit line, but i haven%26#039;t activated it yet, due to the fact that CO does not post actual limits just high balances on your credit report, and so does American Express from what I have read. Anyone know a good company that I could get another credit card from? I am looking for one strictly for when I am a Realtor but being a Realtor does not allow for a business credit card. Any suggestions?

Oh Jackie, your question is a bit loaded. All credit card companies report in the same manner. Because you have a fairly large credit line, does not mean you have to use it all. Start by using your card carefully and if you are using it for business, just pay the full balance every month. If you carry a balance, do not exceed 50% of your credit line as a carrying balance. By doing so, you will maintain a good credit score.

You can make your payments on time each month, pay more than you minimum payment but if you use your card heavily and carry large balances close to your credit line, that will count against you. You will be considered a risk and your APR will get and remain high.

Federal Credit Unions are the best. They have very low interest rates. Look for one in your community. You%26#039;ll prob. have to open a checking/savings account, but it%26#039;s worth it.

It is very hard to answer your question without knowing what features are important to you. For example :

1. Do you pay in full?

2. If not is a low APR important to you?

3. Are you looking for a balance transfer credit card?

4. Are you looking to earn cash rebates?

5. Are you looking to earn air miles?

6. Are you looking to earn any other type of rewards?

If you do not specify this, then all of us can only guess and offer suggestions based on guesswork. Having said that, check the resource below for recommendations based on different criteria.

Personally, I always pay off my monthly balance, so I%26#039;m always looking for the card that will pay me the greatest rewards for my normal spending (on gas, restaurants, groceries, office supplies, etc.).

The tool I used to find the card(s) that would pay me the most is the rewards calculator at http://www.creditcardtuneup.com/ . It can compare the leading small business rewards cards or the leading personal rewards cards (just pick which card type you%26#039;re looking for).

I know from looking into credit cards that Capital One%26#039;s cards are OK, but better rewards cards can be had from AmEx, Citi, and Chase (to name of few of the better credit card companies).

With a FICO score of 734, you should have no trouble getting a better rewards card.
