Buying and trading with credit cards in the US.?

First, typically if you buy from a established merchant, you have very little to worry about. You have more risk that an employee at a restaurant will steal your account numbers than a store that depends on it for their livelihood.

Next, to ensure that the data is encrypted, check that there is a little LOCK in the bottom right of your browser when you go to checkout.

If your brother has access to your credit card, you bet he can use it, and you would be liable unless you claim he stole it, in which case the credit card company may pursue him in court and he might go to jail.

Most retailers use a third party to process credit cards so there is a %26quot;buffer%26quot; between the buyer and the seller, PayPal is a good example on ebay.

Last, its best to clear the cache of the browser on your computer to make sure that no remnants of your card data could be found by someone by just hitting the back button (though most companies have safety systems to protect against it).

I dont understand your last question %26quot;will the info on my credit card appear on the Pcs on the receivers or sellers?%26quot; Maybe you could rephrase.

In sum, it%26#039;s been my experience that it%26#039;s safer to use a credit card online, in the privacy of my home, then anywhere else. But if you dont take basic precautions, (if you think your brother is a thief) then you%26#039;ll have only yourself to blame.
