My sister is using her 2 year old daughter's information to get credit cards, how can i stop th

Well, as shameful as this may be, my sister has a two year old daughter and i just recently found out that she%26#039;s been using her daughters information to open accounts such as credit cards, cell phones etc. What should i do to help my niece out?

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

She is ruining your niece%26#039;s credit. Tell her to stop or you will report her to the credit card company. If she doesn%26#039;t stop, report her. She will not be okay. There is a reason she is using your niece%26#039;s info, it%26#039;s because your sister has already trashed hers and she will trash your niece%26#039;s.

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

just after u tell her %26quot;light%26#039;s out%26quot;, punch her in the face!!!

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

Call the cops and tell them this, call the credit bueral.

That is terrible. Its bad enough strangers using others info to get credit cards, etc

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

Drop a line to the three credit monitoring bureaus with your niece%26#039;s date of birth and that you believe someone (don%26#039;t have to say whom) is attempting to fraudulently request credit in her name... With a block in place, your sister would pretty much be writing her own felony arrest warrant when she next pursues a credit card in the poor girl%26#039;s name. Mean, but effective.

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

Simple...report her...its fraud

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

Wow, that is almost evil. Talk to your mom about it.

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

Your neice may have credit problems and not be able to get a college scholarship or a multitude of other problems. Report the credit fraud.

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

I think if you report it to the police or credit agency that they handle it and can arrest your sister for fraud and stolen identity. But I could totally be wrong.

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

report her to the irs

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

If you really must do this ,find out who the credit cards are with and report her.I for one couldnt turn on my sister

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

Unfortunately, this is a VERY common thing for people with bad credit and financial problems...Contact the people at these agencies, they should be able to correct this:

www.equifax.com

www.transunion.com

www.experian.com

If there is anything that can be done, these folks should be able to help you or at least get you started in the right direction.

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

Call the police and report it as a crime. You will probably have to follow up to ensure somethong is being done.

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

How could she manage to get credit cards on a two year old%26#039;s name..This is simply fraud. Ask her to stop this instantly, otherwise show her the way to magnificient police hospitality for years in cell.

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

All the previous answers are good, but also consider that if your sister is caught, she%26#039;s going to jail and she is going to lose her child.

This is something that will take years to sort out, and your niece%26#039;s credit may be damaged for years before she even gets *her* credit started.

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

First follow Ketel One Up%26#039;s instructions. Then try to find out which credit card companies she has accounts with. You can write to them and provide documentation to show the age of your niece. It sounds like the police would need to be involved to protect the niece. Once someone else was her legal guardian, they would be able to dispute every last cent of credit card purchases as fraud. Even then, when she is old enough to speak, she would be able to do it herself. Sounds like your sister is crazy.

My sister is using her 2 year old daughter%26#039;s information to get credit cards, how can i stop this?

Stop her by all means. This is fraud and should be tackled heavy handedly.

Why are so many people on this answer board so STUPID when using credit cards?

All these questions about credit cards and the debts they run up. Why not just SAVE for your purchases? Makes sense to me and I have been practicing this for many years.

Why are so many people on this answer board so STUPID when using credit cards?

Credit cards are extremely useful for simply consolidating and managing payments. If you simply pay off the balance each month you will incur no finance charges or debt. You can also accrue rewards like cash back, airline miles, etc. for doing so. Of course if you lack the discipline to not charge more than you can pay each month, then there are certainly drawbacks. Kind of depends on your makeup -- as does much of life.

Why are so many people on this answer board so STUPID when using credit cards?

In a perfect world that would happen your dealing with reality were not perfect.

Why are so many people on this answer board so STUPID when using credit cards?

dont criticise people like that, yahoo answers are meant to solve problems not criticize people...its allowed to have more than one same question. and thanks for your advice, we%26#039;ll heed to that

Why are so many people on this answer board so STUPID when using credit cards?

Because lord knows that would make too much sense! People have that I want it now mentality and it gets them in trouble every time!!

Why are so many people on this answer board so STUPID when using credit cards?

stupidity comes in all shapes and sizes. The thing is most of the poepl asking these questions are young and never realized what a credit card is or does. I went through that as a young man. I got them all paid off and got rid of them. credit card companies are evil with how they work and the targets they choose.

Why are so many people on this answer board so STUPID when using credit cards?

People want instant gratification. They don%26#039;t want to wait to get the latest thing that will make their life just perfect. It%26#039;s why this country as a whole is in a huge financial mess.I%26#039;m with you on the savings.

Why are so many people on this answer board so STUPID when using credit cards?

You are not the first person to ask this question here. But remember, not everyone is perfect. I had problems years ago for my own reasons, I have since recovered from it without filing for bankruptcy. I think it%26#039;s really unfair of you to criticize others when you really don%26#039;t know their situations. Can%26#039;t you find something better to do? If you want to criticize questions...start with all those %26#039;am I pregnant ones%26#039;, move on to the %26#039;does he like me ones%26#039; and from there advance to all the racist asshole ones, or even better how about the health emergency ones???

Why are so many people on this answer board so STUPID when using credit cards?

It only makes sense to avoid credit cards. Saving for a purchase takes more will power though and you don%26#039;t get instant gratification, which is shoved in our faces all day long in all forms of media. However, avoiding the credit card loop and all its attendant hassles ends up giving you more money. People just need to learn to stop and think rather than demand everything now.

I haven%26#039;t had a credit card in about 25 years and don%26#039;t miss them at all.

Why are so many people on this answer board so STUPID when using credit cards?

People are still learning...and keep learning for their entire lives.

Does anyone have any honest answers to this question - If I have several credit cards that are in &q

our family has several credit cards that are in charged off status (meaning that they are with collection agencies) does anyone know how we can work with them to pay them off to become a debt free family -- we are currently living paycheck to paycheck

Does anyone have any honest answers to this question - If I have several credit cards that are in %26quot;charged off

First thing is to do some financial planning and make a budget. I suggest getting rid of all the other cards you still use, and quit spending money that you don%26#039;t have.

Next thing is to go see your bank and ask if you can qualify for debt consolidation ... this takes over all the credit card debt and places it into a single payment with the net having a lower interest rate.

Now stick with the plan and resist the urge to cheat on money spending.

You can do it.

Does anyone have any honest answers to this question - If I have several credit cards that are in %26quot;charged off

if they%26#039;re already in collection you are going to need to work with collection agency on payment, it%26#039;s out of the card company%26#039;s hands now.

I would suggest doing a search on debt consolidation companies. what they usually do is buy your debt, and make them 1 large debt and you just pay off that. some act as a broker and neg. with collections for you for a payment option.

Is it better to consolidate debt into an existing personal loan than have credit cards and a persona

Hope this makes sense. Just after some serious advice on whether I should consolidate all my credit cards again into an existing personal loan. Also not looking for lectures, I%26#039;ve learned my lesson.

Is it better to consolidate debt into an existing personal loan than have credit cards and a personal loan?

Yes it is better to consolidate your loan. That way your outstanding debts are rolled into one repayment. You can then use any additional funds you earn after expenses to have a savings plan. Sound debt management principles with your money will eventually lead to savings and income security.

Good Luck

Is it better to consolidate debt into an existing personal loan than have credit cards and a personal loan?

Maybe depending on if you stopped the use of the credit cards after you took out the loan to pay them off.

To succeed you have to bite the bullet and cut up the cards then pay cash from now on.

Is it better to consolidate debt into an existing personal loan than have credit cards and a personal loan?

When you put the %26quot;again%26quot; into your question it sounds like you are in trouble with keeping away from the credit cards. If you can, I suggest you pick the credit card with the lowest balance and slug away at it until its paid and still do the minimums on the rest. Then when the first is paid off, take the money you were paying on that and add it to what you can pay on the next. It is slow going but keeps you from starting over.

Of course a new consolidated loan and torn up credit cards is the best solution if you have the discipline. It is hard to be under that kind of pressure but congrats on trying to clean up your act. You will be glad eventually. Good luck!

Is it better to consolidate debt into an existing personal loan than have credit cards and a personal loan?

It%26#039;s better to ask your question differently.

You SHOULD have personal loans and credit card accounts that offer you the lowest interest rates.

If you can do this by refinancing your personal loans - fine. If you can do this by opening up new accounts and transferring balances - fine.

Where can i find my family history for absolutly free? I mean without credit cards or checking account or pay?

Go to my heritage.com. It%26#039;s a website that shows you what celebrity you look like and alot of times it has people in history like Abraham Lincoln and albert Einstein. It says if you get the same person over and over again you%26#039;re most likely related to them, and it%26#039;s also free.

I would like to know if I would have problems renewing my mortgage due to my credit cards being in d

I have not missed a mortgage payment in 2 years, but my credit cards are in default, and I have one line of credit that has had late payments. Will this affect my mortgage renewal, and would I be able to shop around for a different mortgage lender?

I would like to know if I would have problems renewing my mortgage due to my credit cards being in default?

Mortgage renewal? No such thing. Are you talking about a refinance? Yes, a refinance will be heavily damaged by problems with credit in other areas.

I would like to know if I would have problems renewing my mortgage due to my credit cards being in default?

Your credit rating will have suffered but your existing mortgage provider will probably not care so long as you have sufficient %26quot;equity%26quot; in your property - this is the percentage of the current value of your house that is not covered by the mortgage. For comfort most mortgage providers like to stay in the 50% to 70% range especially for properties that are in difficult areas or poor condition - they know that they can easily lose 40% on a %26quot;fire sale%26quot;.

If you do try to move mortgage you will find that your won%26#039;t be able to borrow a high percentage of the current value of your property and the interest rate will almost certainly be higher than for other people.

this is what the %26quot;sub-prime%26quot; mortgage crisis is all about.

I would like to know if I would have problems renewing my mortgage due to my credit cards being in default?

you won%26#039;t be able to refinance with late payments on your record.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.0

They wrote on the tab how much to put on each card. There was still a balance of 14 cents AFTER I ran the credit cards. I brought it all back to the table and politely told them that there was still a small balance. One of the ladies acted very offended. I went around the corner and listened to their conversation for a minute. This woman was APALLED that I would bring this to their attention. I was not rude or offensive, I just wanted to make sure they knew. All of them left 20% tips, except this woman drew a line through the tip on her credit card slip. Should I have just let it go?

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

I have worked in the service industry most of my life and have developed a theory that all customers instantly become brainless twits and 60% of the time massive, impatient creeps on top of it. Theres no rule of thumb here. I dont think you did anything wrong, it sound like this person was just another average brainless twit massive impatient creep customer. Im sorry that happened though.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

You shoulda beat her down she is ignorant

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

No! Charge her card 30%!!

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

yeah, .14 cents is nothing really.

I am shocked that with 11 people you only got a $40 tip. I hope they all only had one refill max, no apps, salads, bread service ,etc.

I hate how people disregard tipping here, yet will b-tch and moan about bad service....its like they never thought of incenting good service.

When I used to wait tables (this only applies to large parties) I would notify the guests at the table that I do not add on gratuity, even though its common place, because I feel my section was my restaurant and I want you to come back to my restaurant not just be seated here.

Besides, gratuity sucks on big tops/parties usually. I did end up getting fired though from a restaurant for following a customer out of a store and asking him why he went out to eat if he wasn%26#039;t going to tip. He told me it wasn%26#039;t his obligation to pay my salary and I asked why he didn%26#039;t bring this up prior to being waited on. He told me it was because he knew he would get bad service, so I told him don%26#039;t come back and fix your wifes teeth....yes he complained to the manager.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

No you get paid to do a job not to pay their balances. As for the person who vetoed your tip......RUDE RUDE RUDE

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

Next time, you should ask the host that you need to have separate receipts, this way, you avoid this type of problems.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

yeah let it go... that women was a total jerk... she probably wets her bed too

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

11 PEOPLE AND THE BALANCE WAS 14 CENTS..

ARE YOU EFFEN CRAZY......................................

just count your 20 percent tip..........be lucky that you had that table......................................

stop crying for chump change.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

It is not your responsiblity to pay their bill. And you didn%26#039;t do anything wrong. What were you suppose to do?....pay the left over $0.14 ? No way!!!

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

If it is common to expect a tip on the credit card receipt, I would have let the 14 pennies slide. Then if they don%26#039;t leave you any tip, your problem with them is not about 14 cents, but about proper tipping.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

if there is one thing, i hate it is being on the other side being waited on.....and giving a waitress 40.00 for a 39.12 balance and he not bringing change back. That is rude. As for you pointing out the still had a balance..no I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s rude. 14 cents is 14 cents no matter how you look at it. She is rude, hopefully you will never have to see her again. Stingy lady.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

Since everyone else left you a 20% tip, my guess is that they weren%26#039;t offended at all. My guess is that they didn%26#039;t agree with her and wanted to make sure you were tipped appropriately, at least from them.

I would have felt just awful, if I had accidentally shorted you $.01 or $1.00 - no matter, I need to pay my tab!! I used to wait tables, and I%26#039;m very aware that wait staff frequently has to tip-out to bartenders and bus boys, even hostesses sometimes get a cut. So I never like tipping too little, but I am a stickler on my customer service... But I digress!

Regardless, this woman may have been a you-know-what or she might have just had a really, really bad day. Either way, be confident that she must have needed the 14 cents more than you did.

;-)

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

That woman sounds crazy, and even if you had said nothing, she probably would have left you a lousy tip. Who gets that appalled over 14 cents? I mean it isn%26#039;t as if you went to her, and very loudly in front of all the customers told her her credit card declined or something!

14 cents is a very small amount of money - regardless, none of THEIR meal should come out of YOUR pocket, so no, you were not out of line.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

Yes. I waited tables for 2 years in college. If the only balance left over was 14 cents then it really wouldn%26#039;t have been worth her swiping her card again. I know it sucks but you could have afforded to lose 14 cents out of your tips that day when you turned in your money at the end of your shift. You did the right thing letting her know she was short, technically. However, I would have just let it slide and covered it myself. The lady sounds like she was a B-word anyway. Bringing her money shortage to her attention shouldn%26#039;t have cost you a tip. Forget her, she%26#039;s probably one of those overly picky diners anyway.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

yes just let it go and next time you see her you should kill her with kindness......

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

No, you did what was right. I don%26#039;t think people know that in Georgia and Michigan and many other states waitresses are legally paid BELOW Minimum wage and expected to get tips to make up the difference! My daughter has to pay her taxes every night when punching out, a minimum of 8% of all tabs, whether she got a tip or not on a table, plus she has to tip the bartender, busboy and salad person, who are paid minimum wage!

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

Let it go, it is not worth it. Everyone left a tip except for the individual who acted offended. Obviously everyone else wasn%26#039;t bothered by your remark, it was not rude or they also would not have left a tip. You did a good job serving them and they showed their appreciation for that by tipping you. That particular woman is the type who will look for whatever she can to complain about, or be offended about, to feel better about herself; she is insecure and her acting offended and appalled is her way of trying to make herself look high and mighty in front of the others.

Take the high road......don%26#039;t stoop to her level; be and act professional; friendly; and don%26#039;t forget to smile.

That woman doesn%26#039;t realize: what goes around comes around.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

I would have just not said anything in the first place. I mean it%26#039;s 14 cents, I would have just pulled 14 cents out of my pocket and put it in there, just so I didn%26#039;t have to deal with bitchy customers. Customers can be such *******. I agree you shouldn%26#039;t have to deal with them, but it%26#039;s worth 14 cents out of your tip to not have to even bother.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

yes you should have let it go

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

You did the right thing.I work in a restaurant and some customers have been to that special school where they are not taught manners! It%26#039;s not your 14 cents to give away. However rude customers are I always remain polite. Why can they have not just split the bill. I bet her friends thought she was a bit over the top too!

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

Yes, you should have let it go. Your manager would have agreed.

You were polite to them. That%26#039;s all you can do. They probably didn%26#039;t include tax in their calculations. In addition, most restaurants add a gratuity to parties of 8 or more. Did your restaurant do this?

Next time ask, %26quot;Separate checks%26quot; with that size party before taking that order. This way you won%26#039;t have this problem.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

The general public can be so ignorant. Unfortunately, I think all you can do is let it go. If that woman came back into my restaurant, I think I would be tempted to make sure she knew what the bill was before I served her. So you had to pay the 14 cents out of your tips??? Crazy.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

Yes,I%26#039;ve been waiting tables for many years.14cents is not worth losing a future tip .Now on the other hand if they did NOTleave a proper tip,, yes I would say something.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

The woman was rude. But all that hassle for a lousy 14 cents.

I could see if it was 20 bucks. If you got your 20% that should be OK, next time ask if they want separate checks.

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

I worked in the business for 15 years bartending and waiting and personally I would have let it go but don%26#039;t you just wish that EVERYONE for a month of their life had to work in the food industry....those nightmares ( and we all had a few ) would really be alot different to wait on!!!

I waited on a party of 11 last night. When it was time to pay, they gave me 6 credit cards and $40.00 cash.?

My late wife was a waitress for many years and she would report to me the HORROR shows some customers would perform when it came time to pay. I think that it is typical of some people when it comes to parting with their money. Some people are even down right moronic about leaving a tip for their server. The way you handled it, in my opion, was correct and please don%26#039;t let a few %26quot;MORONS%26quot; disuade you from being a good or %26quot;GREAT%26quot; server because you will be remembered for the service you give by the best tippers and forgotten by the morons that really don%26#039;t belong in public dining establishments anyway!

dont worry i will help you if u are true ..........

u can get loan easily

Can anyone tell me where to get a 4000 pound loan i have bad credit rating no creddit cards but in employment?

it depends how bad your credit rating is.if it%26#039;s like mine,you%26#039;ll have more chance of winning the jackpot on euromillions than getting a loan.normally, you can find some company that wil lend you something, but you normally need to go through a loan broker first.they look for companies that are willing to lend you something, but not necessarily the amount you want.then the brokers expect you to pay them 鎷?9 fee before they pass on the companies details to you.depends what you want the money for.if it%26#039;s just for luxuries, then personally i would do without.if it%26#039;s to do with paying off debts, then citizens advice would be a good place to start,as they would be able to point you in the right direction of a free debt advice organisation,so you can make your repayments more manageable.

You will be better off to apply for a credit card with interest free for 6 or 12 months, which may allow you a limit of 鎷?000,depending on your credit status and how long you have been with present employer. Otherwise, the banks use the same data from the credit agencies and you have no chance with any of them.

Can anyone tell me where to get a 4000 pound loan i have bad credit rating no creddit cards but in employment?

seems strange you have bad credit rating. wont your bank do you a loan? lot of super markets do loans. be careful though as your credit score is apparently afftected each time companies look it up to check your rating as it shows that you have asked for a 鎷?000 loan but doesn%26#039;t say if you got one or not. So apparently a company could look at your credit score and they will see is that a number of loan compainies may have given you a 鎷?000 loan! it wont say if they actually did or not! check this info with some one in the know as this is only what i was told when we tried to get a loan to buy a car.

Can anyone tell me where to get a 4000 pound loan i have bad credit rating no creddit cards but in employment?

Carla, take it from someone who got out of her depth with credit cards just don%26#039; t buy it. Not worth the nightmare for 鎷?,000. Any loan you may get, will charge huge interest rates. If you earn a lot, you may be able to consolidate, or do you have a property to remortgage? It took me 10 years to sort out finance after a split with my ex. a bleeding nightmare I am just getting over now. Good luck you have my sympathy.

Can anyone tell me where to get a 4000 pound loan i have bad credit rating no creddit cards but in employment?

iv heard of a good way. iv not tried it myself but if you cant get a loan it cant hurt trying. there are two main credit checking companies in the uk one is experion im not sure of the other. most loan companies will use one of these two companies to check your credit history. get in touch with one and ask for your credit history to be investigated, this apparantly resets your credit history for up to 24 hours. apply for a loan in this time. you should be accepted. another option is to apply for credit in an alias if your name is james smith you could apply for a loan in the name of jim smith. you%26#039;ll probably be refused that loan but a credit file will be set up under the name jim smith so the next time you apply for a loan in that name it should be accepted. and dont worry, using an alias isnt illegal unless you use it for fraud! as long as you intend to pay back the loan it isnt fraud

Would Bank of America proposals make it too easy for illegal imagrants and others to get credit card

Does anyone know of some proposals to offer credit cards at higher interest without the usual complete documentation such as social security numbers etc etc...

I just wonder at what point helping people hide activities and hide their status, possibly illegal status is a bad idea. Or are there more safeguards than meet the eye? particularly in a post 911 world

30,000,000 Illegal Mexicans work in the United States of America and they have been buying cars and houses WITH CASH IN ONE PAYMENT for centuries.

Illegal Mexicans now have more land than the United States of America citizens if you consider mortgages as owned by banks.

It seems banks want a piece of that billion dollars each week illegal mexicans send back home.

So here%26#039;s the deal: My mortgage interest rate is about to reset and I won%26#039;t be able to afford the new payment. Right now my credit score is perfect and I have never missed a payment. Since I can%26#039;t pay my new mortgage payment and my credit score will be destroyed from that, should I go ahead and use all my lines of credit and credit cards and keep the $150K in cash from them for retirement since I will have nothing else to lose by being in debt?

If my mortgage rate is about to reset and I can%26#039;t make payments should I also take money from all credit cards

Being that interest rates are at a 6 year low (30 year mortgage about 5.8%) and you have perfect credit, simply refinance at a lower permanent rate.

A cheap and reasonable alternative to the credit card machine and merchant accounts is using Paypal%26#039;s service %26quot;Virtual Terminal%26quot; (www.paypal.com). The advantages are you can take credit cards, it%26#039;s a low monthly fee, you can cancel and start back up at any time and without reapplying, there%26#039;s no contract, no equipment, and the rates are comparable %26amp; competitive with merchant services. The disadvantage is you have to run the cards through the internet on paypal%26#039;s website, so if you don%26#039;t have access to a computer/internet you cannot run the card at the time of purchase. If you don%26#039;t mind waiting until you get home to run the transaction you can buy a cheap %26quot;old school%26quot; credit card slider (the one that makes a carbon copy of the card) for about $10-$20 or simply create a form to fill out for the info.

Is there a service for independent visual artists that allows for them to accept credit cards in person?

You can %26quot;buy%26quot; a credit card account and card reader. Just do a search for companies that sell these. As an artist, the IRS sees your SSN as your tax number, and this qualifies you as a business/merchant. Of course, credit cards leave a paper trail, and you have to report income on your taxes once you do this (though you should have reported sales prior). You can go the old scool route wth the slider and carbon paper reciepts, to the new high tech cel phone readers.

These are obtained easily, and recently, in my state of NC, the DMV was busted for issuing id%26#039;s to %26quot;deceased%26quot; people! Thats right! Dead people! Of course these were issued to illegals who now are driving around on the streets, selling drugs, joining gangs etc. Amazing!

Are there other ways to pay on-line transactions if i don't have credit cards, paypal or other

I have a hard time purchasing items on the internet since most of these vendors requires credit cards, paypal and other electronic payments that i don%26#039;t have at present. There must be some alternatives to these. Can you suggest some? Many thanks.

Are there other ways to pay on-line transactions if i don%26#039;t have credit cards, paypal or other e-pymt types?

Some sellers accept money orders, or checks, they will usually wait for your check to arrive and clear before providing the product.

Banks offer pre paid credit cards, for people with no credit record or who would just simply avoid the temptation. You go to the bank get one of these %26quot;Credit Cards%26quot; which you can use both electronically or traditionally, however they only provide the money you have prepaid say 100$.

I strongly advice you against getting a Debit card and using it online. While most debit cards can behave like credit cards, they are usually not insured, so if you are a victim of fraud, you are unlikely to get any of your money back... thus the previous solution i offered, your loss potential is equal or lower than the total cash you gave the bank. (By the way, debit card as you probably already know take the funds from your bank account automatically)

Are there other ways to pay on-line transactions if i don%26#039;t have credit cards, paypal or other e-pymt types?

You could provide the money to a friend and have them purchase it for you on-line.

A debit card works well.

I want to pay the credit cards as little extra money as possible! How can I achieve this?

What are the major fees/costs I should be aware of, in regards to credit cards? Such as APR, whats that?

The major cost, other than interest, associated with credit cards is the annual fee. You should also find out over limit fees and late fees that may be imposed. Lastly, while not a charge, you need to determine the grace period - this is the period during which you will not be charged interest on charges you make. These fees can be determined in advance by a little research. Check out bankrate.com.

The APR is the annual percentage rate. This is a term used by the federal truth in lending act. It is not the same as the interest rate on the loan although it can be the sale percentage rate. The APR takes into account any fees or other costs. With credit cards, the APR is often the same as the interest rate since there is no annual fee or other costs associated with the credit card. (Note the biggest spread between an APR and interest rate usually occurs with home mortgages where the broker is charging you fees and the lender is also charging you fees such as points). Bankrate.com will also show the lowest APR rates for numerous cards.

What are the major fees/costs I should be aware of, in regards to credit cards? Such as APR, whats that?

You just get one that states %26#039;No Annual Fee%26#039;. That%26#039;s the fee that they charge just to use the card. The APR is the annual percentage rate and is the mount of interest that is charged on unpaid balances. If you pay your balance every month (as you should) then this doesn%26#039;t matter as much.

What are the major fees/costs I should be aware of, in regards to credit cards? Such as APR, whats that?

Make sure the interest rate is as low as you can get it for your credit rating/ score. 9.9% or lower if you can get it. That means that you are paying a 10 cents charge for every dollar you spend. If you get a card with a 22% interest rate, you are paying 22 cents for every dollar you spend on the credit card. And, if you can%26#039;t pay the balance off every month, try to pay on time and 2-3 times the minimum amount due.

What are the major fees/costs I should be aware of, in regards to credit cards? Such as APR, whats that?

Depending on your credit, you could qualify for virtually no fees, or if your credit is not the best, you could pay higher APR%26#039;s, annual fees, initiation fees, monthly service fees, etc. There are many websites offering credit cards, but one of my favorites is www.bankrate.com you may find helpful info there.

What are the major fees/costs I should be aware of, in regards to credit cards? Such as APR, whats that?

Always get a no annual fee card. Pay your balances in full each month to avoid paying interest. Do not go over your credit limit. If you don%26#039;t pay your bills online, mail your bill at least 5 days before its due so it gets credited in time. Get a card that gives you cashback on your groceries and gas. Search bankrate.com for the best card.

What are the major fees/costs I should be aware of, in regards to credit cards? Such as APR, whats that?

I found all sorts of cards here. Good for comparison.

You can if you DO accept those specific cards. Their respective websites have details on the technicalities of which logo to use and how large they have to be, etc.

As long as you accept these cards then there are no legal ramifications you should have to worry about. Also you may want to contact Visa and/or MC regarding their ad policies on websites.

After graduation, i left for a job in china. i haven%26#039;t been able to repay my student loans or credit cards

If it%26#039;s been 10 years since you made any payments, wait another 6 months and the charged off account will be off your credit report and won%26#039;t matter anymore. Some of them may have fallen off after 7 years anyway.

Credit cards are not as they used to?

Back then, when you had a credit card and paid on time, credit card company would be nice to you and wanted your business. Now, it doesn%26#039;t matter how long you%26#039;ve been with them, if you%26#039;re not profitable, I mean if you don%26#039;t use the card often and carry the balance from month to month, credit card companies treat you like dirt.

Everyone has credit card nowaday. Back then it was a priviledge to have a card. Now they hand them out like candies and as soon as you don%26#039;t make money for them, they will drop you like a hot potato. You can have a great credit score but that doesn%26#039;t mean you have a good interest rate. I%26#039;ve seen people who have way over 700 score still get a 14% because they never carried the balance.

Credit cards are not as they used to?

What do you mean they treat you like dirt? It seems to me that if they have a problem with us buying things we can afford and not racking up interest charges, they should come up with a fixed fee we should pay for using it. Oh yeah, and they ALWAYS make money on you if you pay on time . . . merchants have to pay for the privilege of accepting credit cards, and that gets added to the price behind the scenes. Even people who pay cash share this burden, because the store obviously can%26#039;t openly charge one customer more than another for the same stuff. Good night!

Credit cards are not as they used to?

Yes, it%26#039;s a dog eat dog world nowadays. Make one mistake and you are messed up for life. Also, even getting a job without good credit is a hassle these days. Like a vicious cycle- you need a good job so that you can pay your bills, but you can%26#039;t get a good job because your credit report has negative entries!

Credit cards are not as they used to?

I never carry a balance and I can%26#039;t say I%26#039;ve been %26quot;treated like dirt%26quot;. Maybe I%26#039;ve been treated in a merely average way, but I%26#039;ve never had any problems or issues because of this. I couldn%26#039;t care less about my interest rate because I don%26#039;t carry a balance. I have other places I can get cheaper money if I really need to borrow it.

But yes, the capitalist culture in the U.S. is such that profit is king. Shareholders demand it. Shareholders don%26#039;t care about the customers, they just want profit, profit, profit, and short term profit, too. It%26#039;s sad but I don%26#039;t think the culture is going to change anytime soon.

Maybe the market will correct if enough 700-scorers get fed up with 14% interest rates and go to competing cards. Won%26#039;t be me though.

Walmart credit cards problems?

I recently got approved for the walmart credit card. I only shop at walmart and sam%26#039;s club. I was wondering has anyone had problems with there walmart credit card? Also I have heard that some credit card companys send there payment bill late to the customer so therefore the customer makes a payment late and has to pay interest. Can you explain to me how you pay for your credit card bill? I know the bill comes in and you send them money for it, but can you pay at a local walmart, online with a bank debit card? etc. Also my husband says that the only way it will help your credit score is if you pay the whole amount before the bill comes in is that true? How many days to they allow you to get your payment in? 2 weeks 1 week? I would apprecite any info and additional info. Thanks so much!! Also, I said i got approved for the card it is my husbands name b/c he is the only income comming in, can i still use the card or does he have to be there to sign the paper?

Walmart credit cards problems?

Let me dissect your question and itemize my answers:

1) With regard to credit card companies sending their bills late so that you most likely get a late-payment....yes this has happen before. The credit card company was called Providian and they were worse. Providian would receive the checks/cash them but not credit the accounts and still charged a late payment.

You can educate yourself more on credit by visiting the following website(it%26#039;s a PBS Frontline Special titled %26quot;The Secrete Credit Card%26quot;):

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/...

2) Since you shop at Walmart you can make your payments at Walmart directly so DON%26#039;T MAIL YOUR CHECK IN THE MAIL!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes it%26#039;s the Post Office%26#039;s fault and they may lose your check with payment. And even if you are late---they can%26#039;t report you to the credit bureaus because you would need to be 30-days past due to be reported late THUS negatively affect your FICO score.

3) I pay my credit card in the store and collect my receipt.

4) No you don%26#039;t need to pay the entire amount...BUT if you just pay the minimum payment then yes this will not look good. But a Walmart card doesn%26#039;t give you as much credit as a VISA/Master Card/Discover/or AMEX card would.

5) You should give it at least 6-7 days on the day you mail your payment for them to receive it.

6) You can apply for one too or have him add you. It really doesn%26#039;t matter. So long as you make your payments they don%26#039;t care. But under employment put that you are a homemaker or have your husband co-sign with you. If student%26#039;s with no job can get a credit card...why can%26#039;t you????

Walmart credit cards problems?

I have a Walmart Credit card, and I haven%26#039;t ever really had problems with it. I have never received the bill late, and usually it is due the same day each month, so I don%26#039;t even have to look at the bill. I usually check the account balance and such online and pay my bill that way. If it is last minute, I go up to Walmart and pay the bill at customer service. This allows you to pay the bill on the due date, as opposed to scheduling it in advance. If you pay the balance before it posts to your credit card account, you will be able to avoid interest on your purchases. However, the way I understand it, it would help your credit to pay on a balance for a few months and then pay it off. This shows that you can carry a revolving balance and therefore helps your credit. Usually the bill arrives 2 weeks before the payment is due. They don%26#039;t usually check the credit card so you can use it without your husband. I would imagine that even if they did check it, and you have matching last names there wouldn%26#039;t be a problem. My boyfriend uses mine with no problem and we aren%26#039;t related. Just swipe it in the credit card machine.

Walmart credit cards problems?

I would hope that Walmart isn%26#039;t doing that lets send the

bill late to the customer. See if you can review your

If you pay off the balance in full when do, you won%26#039;t be

enough established credit then it wouldn%26#039;t matter.

Credit Cards with Bad credit?

I have a daughter who is very sick and we have so many medical bills we need to apply for a credit card but I have bad credit because of what is going on. Is there anything that I can do? I have never had a credit card before, so I was just wondering. We need to get a credit card to go to a special hospital in nebraska for more help. Thanks! Please leave links to websites that would help me apply for a credit card.

Credit Cards with Bad credit?

The only thing I can think of is secured credit cards, due to your poor credit ratings, but unfortunately, you are required to leave a deposit equal to your credit limit for them.

Try care credit, or possibly a loan from local bank that you have been a customer of for some time.

Good luck.

Just don%26#039;t bury yourself in further debt.

Credit Cards with Bad credit?

There are a few credit cards out there for bad credit but if you have bad credit and get another credit card make sure you don%26#039;t get your self in a deeper hole, alot of these credit cards for poor credit have an annual fee and application fees make sure you build your credit and then cancel and get a better one, check out www.fastcreditcardapprovals.com

Orchard Bank might work. If you would like a link to them, please send an email. Without a credit history and bad credit you might not be able to get high enough limit to help you. If it%26#039;s a matter of charging gas to get there, it might help. Be wary of opening new credit card accounts, you might get approved for say $1500.00 on a new card, with a cash advance limit of $300.00, you go out get a cash advance for $250.00 and the next thing you know, they knock your limit down to $900.00. Happens all the time. Be careful and best wishes that all turns out well for you.

A few questions about credit cards?

I was thinking of getting a credit card ..but before i do i have a few questions and i am hoping someone will be able to help me.

I was thinking of starting with a credit card of a limit of $500 only ( this is the lowest credit card limit my bank has) so i was wondering if it sounds like a good credit card..it has

no rewards.

$48 annual fee.

55 days interest free period.

12.99 % p.a on both purchases and cash advances.

after the 1st may 2008 cash advances will increase to 18.49% p.a

If that is not good, then if i was to go with an other bank for a credit card, would i need a regular bank card with that bank in order to get a credit card with them?

Also, whats the difference between purchases and cash advances?

one more question, if i pay on time each month the interest will not affect me right?

Im so clueless about this.I%26#039;d appriciate a well detailed answer =].

A few questions about credit cards?

NOOOOOO. Dont EVER get a card that charges you a fee. A good credit card would be the link below:

http://www.chaseinformation.com/dynelpmc...

purchase are just that (buying at the store etc), getting a cash advance is getting cash from the credit card (dont do this since they always charge big fees). If you pay in FULL every month, then you will not get charged interest.(you still want to get a card with a low interest just in case you dont pay in full that month)

A few questions about credit cards?

1st off you don%26#039;t get to pick your credit limit, the bank does but for your first card the limit will probably be low.

12.9% is a good intrest rate but the card may be harder to qualify for.

there are lots of cards out there with no annual fee. so that seems high to me.

most cards only offer 20 to 30 day grace period for purchases so that is excelent

yes if you pay off completly within the grace period you will avoid intrest charges.

the 55 day grace period woud make the annual fee worth it if you pay off in time each month.

cash advance would be if you use the card to get cash from an ATM or teller and always carry a higher rate.

good luck

A few questions about credit cards?

I do not want to sound nasty about this but frankly there are millions and millions of people just like you that should not have credit cards. They are taking this country down a really nasty road. Here%26#039;s the thing, if you do not know the answers to these questions you should not have a credit card. Please do yourself a favor and get educated before you do anything else, and by education I do not mean on this site. I mean talk to the bank offering the card and then talk to another and another. Check with a credit union also and consider talking to a store that offers a credit card for comparsion sake. You%26#039;ll learn what you need to make the right desiosn. I will give you a tip though, never, ever pay a credit card company for th %26quot;prilvegage%26quot; of carrying their card unless its American Express. You won%26#039;t have the credit history to get one of those for a while. Also see the jump from 12.99% interets to 18.49% theres a reason they are doing that, and its becuase they are counting on you to not be able to pay and they make their income off from interest. Please think carefully before you act..

A few questions about credit cards?

The annual fee is too high for a basic credit card.

The interest is the standard rate.

You don%26#039;t have to have an account with a bank to get a credit card with them.

Purchases is when you make a payment with your card. Cash advance is when you retrieve money from the ATM with your card.

If you pay the whole owed amount within the interest free period then you won%26#039;t pay any interest.

A few questions about credit cards?

i dont trust credit cards...but i am looking for one too, so i%26#039;ll be keeping an eye on this question. =] goodluck and hope you find a credit card that suits you..

Just remember..if/when you get one... only spend if you know you%26#039;ll be able to pay for it.

A few questions about credit cards?

No, sorry this is not detailed, but you should never pay an annual fee for a card with no rewards program. Heck, you should never pay an annual fee period.

A few questions about credit cards?

I agree. You need to get a card with no annual fee, low interest rate and rewards.

A few questions about credit cards?

If you want to get a card with lower fee and best credit history.

You would have a look at this:http://www.creditcardscom.cn/

And you can also know which cards are bad~

A few questions about credit cards?

Hi!

Is this going to be your first credit card? If so, DON%26#039;T apply for a card with an annual fee, you can find plenty without one. If you%26#039;re currently going to school, I would highly recommend a student credit card. They offer rewards and have a decent APR rate with a credit limit around $500 like you mentioned.

Also, whats the difference between purchases and cash advances?

A cash advance is when you use your credit card at an ATM or a cash advance store. This is when you withdrawal cash directly from your credit card. Purchases are when you use it for purchases at stores, online, etc.

one more question, if i pay on time each month the interest will not affect me right?

Yes, if you pay your card off in full (which you should do), there will be NO interest :)

I put a good website in my source that offer credit cards for people like you :)

A few questions about credit cards?

I would research several cards. There are many sites that

allow you to compare credit cards. One that I know is a

reliable site is http://www.rightcharge.org

They break cards out in categories such as balance transfer

cards, low interest rate card, reward cards, student cards,

cards for people who have poor credit, cards for people who

have no credit, etc.

They make it easy not only to compare cards but also to apply on-line. Also they have secure on-line applications and free articles to help you make the right choice for you.

I would definitely check this site out.

Good Luck!

Gas Credit Cards?

I would like to get a credit card that i could use just for gas. I dont have great credit but i dont have bad credit. around the 640 mark.

i would like the credit card to help save my gas money to.

does anyone know the best gas credit card for me would be?

thanks so much for your help!

Gas Credit Cards?

I use a BP Card and pay it off each month. I have my gas money set off to the side in my check book each month already. Plus I get an extra 15 cent off gas everytime I use it. This comes off the credit card bill. I have had no problems with this system yet. Another posible Gas card to get would be a Shell Card. They have a simular card. You have good enough credit so you should be able to get one. Plus it may help your credit out if you are able to pay it off each month.

Gas Credit Cards?

Dont get one. Credit cards are a rip off.

Gas Credit Cards?

depends on interest rates and your rating will be different depending on your credit. It looks to me that you can obtain almost any gas card and get high marks for low interest. Best of luck!

Gas Credit Cards?

do you mean gas as in gas for heating ? why dont you set up a monthly buget plan with your gas supplier.

Gas Credit Cards?

Why would you want to pay interest on $3.50 a gallon. I would look for a card with no interest for the first year. Pay it off every month and when the year expires find another.

Gas Credit Cards?

Credit cards won%26#039;t save money for gas.

You%26#039;ll still be spending your money to buy gas. You%26#039;ll just have to 1) pay interest and 2) pay in a lump sum instead of each tmie you fill up.

Honestly it%26#039;s better and easier for YOU to skip the credit card and just pay with cash. Especially if you have poor credit, lay off the credit cards.

Those gas cards you are talking about STILL have interest.

Let%26#039;s say you spend $3.50/gal on gas and pump in 3 gallons. You say $.10/each gal and have 7% interest.

You spent $10.50 on gas.

You %26quot;saved%26quot; $.30 on gas.

Your interest was $.74.

Now, you%26#039;re in the hole. You didn%26#039;t save anything.

Gas Credit Cards?

You should check USA today on thursday in the money section. They usually post the best credit card deals on that day.

Gas Credit Cards?

unless u plan to pay that credit card off everytime u use it i say it not worth it

Gas Credit Cards?

So long as you pay your credit card balance off every month, any gas credit card is fine to use.

I suggest you get your gasoline at places that do NOT get their gas from the Middle East or Venezuela. Try Sunoco or Hess.

Gas Credit Cards?

Assuming you plan to pay off the balance each month, I would look for one that you can use anywhere and has no annual fee. I use the Chase Freedom card as it gives you 3% cash back on the three categories that you spend the most money in each month.

In your case, if you are using if only or at least primarily for gas, you would get 3% cash back no matter where you fill up your car. Some of the cards out there are tied to certain brands and I like this one you always get the discount as long as gasoline purchases are one of your top three expense categories each month (you get 1% cash back on everything else). You build up credits and then you can request a check once you have at least $50 in rewards. Or if you wait until you have $200 in rewards they will send you a check for $250.

No annual fee and I always pay it off each month, so I pay no fees to use it and get cash back on purchases. As long as you are disciplined to use it correctly and not buy things you couldn%26#039;t have paid for using cash it works out to be a great deal.

Gas Credit Cards?

there are cash back gas card offering anywhere between 2-6% cash back. I think citi has a BP gas card for 10% cash back which is excellent, especially if you pay it off in full each month.

http://creditcardwarehouseonline.com click gas cards the bp is the one on the bottom.

Gas Credit Cards?

I don%26#039;t know oif any credit card that i care to have.

credit cards cost money in one way or the other, if you are foing for soem 10 discount per gallon it would not be worth it.

Gas Credit Cards?

Gas credit cards are bad. You lose track of how much you owe. And if you don%26#039;t pay off your card you lose your savings.

Gas Credit Cards?

One of the best gas credit card is Discover Open Road. - http://bestcreditcardratings.com/gas-rew...

Gas Credit Cards?

you might want to go here to compare them, pick one that is right for u

http://www.bestcreditrates.net

Gas Credit Cards?

The first credit card for gas that you can apply online is the Discover Gas Card.

Another card that is an instant approval card, having gas rewards along with various other rewards is the Hilton Honors Platinum Credit Card. It gives rewards at eligible gas stations, supermarkets, and many other places.

While choosing a credit card that offers you gas back, you should consider whether the rewards should be taken off of the gas or if the purchases at the gas station make you eligible for other types of rewards. E.g. on the Hilton card, you get rewards for your gas purchases but are more of rewards given by Hilton, rather than cash back for gas. So consider this point carefully when applying for a credit card with gas rewards.

http://www.complete-debt-info.com/catego...

Gas Credit Cards?

Like you said, as long as you pay off the credit card in FULL every month, you%26#039;ll reap the rewards. If you can%26#039;t accomplish this task then I would advise against it.

When it comes to a gas credit card, do you want a card that focuses on one gas station or do you want a card that focuses on all gas stations? You%26#039;ll find that if you apply for a gas card that applies to one gas station such as BP, you%26#039;ll be able to save more money.

Be prepared to save anywhere from 3-5% and make sure you read the fine print to see if there%26#039;s a cap on how much you can save per month. Remember to look past the intro rate and see what the card gives you in the long trun.

As for the best gas card, I would highly suggest the Discover open road card OR the BP card if you%26#039;re looking for a particular gas station. Both of these cards give you the best cash back in the industry.

Can I get a credit card from a country if I don%26#039;t live there eg. the US or the UK? Can I get a prepaid credit card?

What is the best way to deal with debt if I have over 20,000 of debt and over 90 days late on 2 cred

I am pretty much current on all my other bills except those 2 credit cards. I do however have a lot of debt and my other cards are maxed-out. each month it is harder to make ends meet, but I do not want to file bankruptcy. I can afford my mothly expenses once i get caught up I just have to reach that point. Suggestions please.

What is the best way to deal with debt if I have over 20,000 of debt and over 90 days late on 2 credit cards?

This is EXACTLY how to deal with this. Part of it is called a debt payoff snowball. It%26#039;s easy.

The first step is to shred your credit cards and start paying cash for everything. Then try selling some stuff and getting a 2nd job. You can also look for a new home with lower rent.

What is the best way to deal with debt if I have over 20,000 of debt and over 90 days late on 2 credit cards?

Are you able to get some overtime or a part time job till you get caught up? Make sure you call the lender and work something out. If you want to keep this card you need to keep a line of communication

Edit.

______________________________________...

No one is going to like what I am about to say and I don%26#039;t know the hole story, however I have seen debt like this take over peoples life. You stated you owe a lot of money on other cards. How much? If you have 20k on two cards and other cards I%26#039;m guessing 30 - 40,000 thousand in credit card debt.

This is a snow ball effect and unless you know something I don%26#039;t it%26#039;s almost impossible to get out of. I suggest making a 5 year plan, and a budget. If you make a 5 year plan and your still not out of credit card debt (this is where their gonna hate me) you should think about walking away. Cause there is a good chance 5 years from now you could still have most of the debt throwing money out the window and nothing to show for it but bad credit. This way you can put your extra money in a savings account establish a safety net. You will be able to rebuild your credit.

What is the best way to deal with debt if I have over 20,000 of debt and over 90 days late on 2 credit cards?

will cut down on like cable eating out and with that money u put toward that my whole check is going ti my two crdit cards i do min on one and the other big payment when thats paid off in 5 months then next will take me till feb or march 09 the more u pay the better and the sonner

What is the best way to deal with debt if I have over 20,000 of debt and over 90 days late on 2 credit cards?

Walk away. Congress is investigating the practice of credit card companies. If you are late just once, no matter how good your record is, they will jack your rate to thirty percent. Nice isn%26#039;t it? Let them rot.

Ex wife and credit cards?

My friend has been divorced for 3 years and during their marriage they got into a bit of financial difficulty. His credit card company called him and said they were going to close his account due to non payment. This was during the time when she was moving out of province and when she arrived there she called the company and had the address changed on the account to which she was only a co-applicant and made enough of a payment to keep the card open. The credit card company assumed (I guess) that he was at this address because that is what she told them. She has since charged on this account and not made any more payments. He applied for another card a couple weeks ago and then he got a phone call from the credit card company telling him about the debt he had from the old card still outstanding. Now his credit is destroyed and has a large debt to pay off. Is there something he can do about her frauding his address change and opening mail addressed to him?

Ex wife and credit cards?

If he didn%26#039;t close the cards, he is responsible for them....most credit card companies now days call you or send notification if something has changed ...address change, telephone number change, purchases made in a different part of the country or area.

Marital debts are marital debts...if they were joint holders of the account he is as much responsible for paying the account as she is. If he is the primary and she just has the second card on the account, He is responsible for all of it. If he really wants to he can drag her into court ( but most likely the credit card scenario has already been decided by a court) and a judge can decide on who has to pay the bills and or who is responsible...provided that he did not already make a judgment that your friend was to pay the credit card bills.

Ex wife and credit cards?

Be smarter in the future and not put women on his credit card account. Then call the credit company and talk to them. If you can say the right words they may wave some of the fees for him. Probably will still end up paying but maybe not as much.

Ex wife and credit cards?

Yes, file a police report and go from their.

If he reports her from fraud he will not be responsible for any charges made after they separated. He will however have a hell of a time trying to clear this up with the credit company%26#039;s. The best thing to do is ask for each credit card company to send him a notarized letter stating what happened so when he ever apply%26#039;s for anything else he will have this on file as a backup. He can also send a copy of the letters to all 3 credit agency and they will post it along with his credit report so that way anyone that pulls he credit will know what happened and most likely not fault him. But the letters must be notarized.

Good Luck

Ex wife and credit cards?

They will both be responsible for this debt. However if he communicates with the credit company and can supply a divorcee decree along with proof of who%26#039;s responsible for the debt that will help his case. He is going to have to real fight on his hands but communication with the credit company is going to be key.

PayPal Credit Cards and Address Confirmation?

Hello-

I%26#039;m new to Paypal and Ebay. I%26#039;m trying to use the %26quot;Buy Now%26quot; option to purchase a cell phone. I%26#039;ve confirmed my bank account and a credit card with Paypal.

Whenever I click on Buy Now, I get sent to the Paypal website to confirm my purchase and etc. Paypal tells me that I need to add a credit card to my account to confirm my address before I can purchase the item. But I already have my credit card added to my PayPal account and everything is already confirmed!! I%26#039;ve tried re-entering the credit card%26#039;s information to re-confirm, but Paypal tells me that this credit card is already registered and I%26#039;m at a dead end.

Please, can anyone help me out here? I%26#039;m very frustrated, I%26#039;ve already lost 4 cell phone bids because of this problem, and I have no idea what I can possibly do to remedy this. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated!

PayPal Credit Cards and Address Confirmation?

Hi there, best thing to do would be to call Paypal tomorrow and see if they can straighten up what went wrong. You may have pressed the register button twice or something with your credit card and that is why it won%26#039;t work now. Good luck, the cell phones will still be there on ebay.

PayPal Credit Cards and Address Confirmation?

when you first set up your paypal account, paypal will send you a low amount of money to whatever credit card or bank you are using. Have you already received this dollar amount on your card? after you do receive this amount you are to log into your paypal account and type in the amount they send to you. after you have done this, you shouldn%26#039;t have a problem using paypal. you may want to log on to paypal and see if there is a chat service or phone service to call a rep. from paypal and I am sure they could look your information up and help you from there.

PayPal Credit Cards and Address Confirmation?

try a different credit card.

i think paypal has a system of verifying that you own the credit card or bank account by depositing some money in your bank account, and ask you to enter how much money it was.

i think for credit cards they ask some other form of verification. find out what that is

best bet is use another credit card, or just add a bank account to your paypal account (takes like a week), add funds into your paypal account (another 3-4 days) and then pay directly from your paypal funds.

and then from there, for future, always have some money in paypal account so you don%26#039;t have to wait for bank to transfer money into your paypal account.

PayPal Credit Cards and Address Confirmation?

You say %26quot;Paypal tells me that I need to add a credit card to my account to confirm my address%26quot;. I believe the issue here is not your credit card but your address. eBay sellers often require that the buyer has a %26quot;confirmed address%26quot;. Login to your PayPal account, click on Profile sub-tab and then in the left column click on %26quot;Street Address%26quot;. You%26#039;ll get to a page were your address is listed. This is (probably) the address you provided when you first signed up for a PayPal account. Check if in the Status column this address is marked %26quot;Confirmed%26quot;. If not that probably means this address is somehow different from the billing address on the credit card.

To find out more about address confirmation click on Help link at top right corner and search for %26quot;address confirmation%26quot;

Good Credit Cards for 18-year-old?

My Mom helps me pay the Capital One credit card that I have, which has a limit of 300.00, which is%26#039;nt that much. But, I have heard bad reviews about them, so I am thinking about switching to Citi Credit Card, where their APR will be lower, and my limit will be a little higher. I am not asking for a credit limit of 15000 dollars, but at least a decent one, like 1,000 or 2,000 dollars. Please, what is a good credit card for an 18-year-old whose mother helps her pay her credit card, and with low APRs and a nice credit line? Also, I will be going to college in the Spring of 2008?

Thanks

Good Credit Cards for 18-year-old?

The credit card landscape is filled with sharks, fine print, and unfulfilled promises. Additionally, what works well for one person may not work well for another. Any discussion of what would be the best card for you would require some dialogue back and forth, with questions about what is most important to you: rewards? Low interest rate? No annual fee? Credit limit? Etc. The choice is not always obvious. I control my spending such that I use my rewards card for absolutely everything, and then I pay it in full the day before it is due -- so I get rewards points for things I used to pay cash for, but I also don%26#039;t care about the interest rate because I never pay interest. A friend of mine takes this strategy a step further, and pays a $15 a year annual fee in order to get even more points on his purchases. The $15 is insignificant compared to the increase in his rewards points over no-fee cards. So, there are many things to consider, and not just rewards. One thing I can say is that I would not recommend a regular American Express to someone just starting out: they are not revolving charge cards (they are due at the end of each month), and they have no limit, so one can get oneself in trouble with them quickly. They are also not accepted at as many places as Visa/MC.

All that said, if your mom owns her own business, she is probably very money-savvy. I would sit down and discuss this thoroughly with her. Even the most well-meaning person can get into trouble with a bad card (high rates, lots of fine print, etc.), and once you%26#039;ve dinged your credit, it takes a long time to rebuild.

By the way, rates ARE negotiable. After you%26#039;ve established yourself with a card and your credit score grows, call them up about once a year and ask them for a better rate or threaten to switch cards. It works.

amazon.com visa credit card is good for students because you get $30 off your first amazon purchase and each time you use it you get points redeemable towards amazon.com purchases-which is good for students because they sell really cheap textbooks. they also have a lower APR then capital one, i think like 14%-ish.

First off, if your mom has to help you pay your card on a $300 limit, you may want to reconsider switching to a card with a higher balance.

If you feel that you must get a new card, do your homework. I have a Citibank card and have had good luck with it for over 20 years! I also have a Chase card, and have been happy with it thus far.

Good Credit Cards for 18-year-old?

Citi庐 Bronze庐/AAdvantage庐 MasterCard庐is by far the most widely used card. It is essential for regular travelers with average credit. Its reward program gives you an additional mile per $2 spent on the card. You can collect up to 25,000 miles annually, and can be redeemed for flights on partner airlines, hotel accommodations throughout the world, and car rentals. Additional benefits are: zero liability for unauthorized transactions, travel accident insurance and various Internet account associated services. The card does not charge any annual fee. But the drawback is the minimum APR cap for cash advances, set at 19.99%.

The other popular card is the Citi庐 mtvU鈩?Platinum Select庐 Visa庐 Card. It is specifically targeted towards college students. There is no minimum income level needed to get the card. But it has a minimum APR for cash advances of 19.99%. The card does not charge any annual fee and offers a minimum credit limit of $500. The most interesting aspect of this card is that you get a point for general purchase and each dollar spent at restaurants, movie theaters, record stores, bookstores, and video rentals, gives you 5 points.

Credit cards? No processing fees?

I had no credit before I applied and got accepted for the credit card i got the card, and then a bill came for 250 dollars. 200 for making the account, another was for a fee of some sort. This is not an issue, but I had a friend I hung out with yesterday, when I told him about the fees, he responded by saying he got a credit card with no fees at all, not just one but three with a credit limit of 500, 500 and 300. Mine has a limit of only 300. Where did he get this card, I forgot to ask him and do they really exsist?

Credit cards? No processing fees?

$50. sounds like an annual fee. ask the Rep what type of fee it is, make note of it on the bill. Keep your bill organized for future reference. Why? You can learn the way how credit companies charge people and what for, so you learn your lesson and will be able to %26quot;immute%26quot; next time.

Small small credit card companies charge BS fees. You need to be very careful, especially you don%26#039;t have that kind of horrible dreams YET. Make sure your pay credit card bills before the due date. If you mail it out before the due date and they receive the payment late, they consider it is a later payment. So, make sure at least you have your minimum payment sent on time, every month. The late fee can be high, not worth to risk! Try to pay off the remain balance ASAP. Never borrow money from credit card, they charge you min. fee and interest as well. Good luck with that and don%26#039;t come back and cry at us.

once you build up your good credit, more offers will come in. That time you can choose a bigger credit card company with a better reputation. Of course you don%26#039;t want to pay annual fee every year. If you think you have been a good boy for the year, you can call to ask if they can waive your fee because you get another offer than they don%26#039;t have these fees. If they like you, they will waive for you. Get their names and the time you call them, just in case.

If you are not using your credit card to purchase a lot, the Reps are not willing to help you solve problems... Unless you spend a lot and pay on time and you threaten them you want to close the account because you are not happy with the service. Credit card companies are ugly to deal with!

Credit cards? No processing fees?

Ultimately, you don%26#039;t want ANY fees associated with a credit card. They often offer those kinds of things to %26#039;help%26#039; you build or rebuild your credit, at least that is what they say. Often the fees are monthly and yearly tapped onto your credit card. I see no good in those deals, often people get stuck unable to pay and do more damage to their credit. I would pay off the amount as soon as possible and close the account.

Before you sign up for a card look at all the terms associated ( APR, Annual Fee, Late/Overlimit Fees, Contract Fees, Application Fees blah blah.) If there are more than an late/over limit fee, that%26#039;s too many fees!

Credit cards? No processing fees?

Young man welcome to the world of credit you have a lot to learn and learn you must because there is so much scam and greedy people that don%26#039;t give a dam about you, only getting your money and they will trick you if they can.

Learn about credit = http://www.myfico.com/CreditEducation/Cr...

Credit cards? No processing fees?

consider this a lesson learned...sounds like you have a first premier bank card or one of those cards if activated, they will charge fees to the card, which lowers your available credit limit to about $50-72. so, you%26#039;re stuck paying the minimum every month on $250....if you are looking for a credit card to rebuild or establish credit, try orchard bank....you may start off low, but you dont have to worry about %26quot;hidden%26quot; fees charged to the card once activated. believe me or not, but when i got approved for the orchard bank card, my credit score was low...had no credit....bout 3 months of having the card..i was approved for wamu credit card...with wamu you can also check your fico score...at that point i could see where i stand...jul 07, my score was 569...by dec 07, my fico score was 614...i always pay more than the minimum. the orchard bank card did charge me the 39 fee to start, but that was it..wamu didnt charge anything, plus i have 0 apr for the first 12 months.
